Festival Preview: Bestival 2015

Having recently announced the theme of ‘The Summer of Love’, Isle of Wight’s second most famous festival reveals its lineup for 2015- and it’s a big one. Including an array of legendary acts known the world over such as The Jacksons, as well as a plethora of indie underground gems like Flying Lotus and George The Poet.

Bestival is one of the UK’s biggest festivals and consistently manages to bring in some of the biggest names in music, from Elton John to Outkast. 2015 is of course in no way different and the first of three headline acts set to perform at Bestival are none other than two of the biggest UK electro pioneers- The Chemical Brothers. Joining them with the same element of throwback are the legendary Jacksons, Duran Duran, Underworld and Jurassic 5.

Bestival 2014

With the highest names on the bill all slotting into the annals of legendary, a lot of the other artists to make up the bill encapsulate the ‘up and coming’ phrase. With Flying Lotus, Little Dragon, Action Bronson, Jamie xx, Jungle and Gorgon City continuing their rises to the top, cementing themselves as household names, you can catch them all at Bestival 2015.

However, with Bestival the lineup seems to become even more enticing the further down the list you go- at least for me anyway. While the broad list of artists set to perform live in September is exciting, for me the plethora of DJ sets stand out as the selling point. Like with the live artists, there’s a good number of DJ sets that can fall into the legendary bracket once more- David Rodigan, Shy FX, Seth Troxler and Slipmatt all come to mind. As well as this, sets from Mike Skinner, Hannah Wants, Redlight and Four Tet are all performances to keep an eye on.

Bestival 2015 is from the 10th-13th September and with many acts still to be announced, you can already grab tickets now from Ticketline here.
