Any dedicated West Review reader will know all about our celebration of Boomtown Fair. It’s one of the UK’s most important music events; its depth and extravagance simply unrivalled among the UK festival circuit, try as competitors might to match it. And despite its brilliance, Boomtown continues to grow and expand with each edition, excelling itself every year. And 2020 is no different.

To recycle that age-old cliche – Boomtown 2020 boasts the best lineup in its 11-year history so far. An encapsulation of all that’s made the festival infamous, this year’s bill celebrates the ever-evolving, forward-thinking ethos of Boomtown, while nodding and reflecting on its prior brilliance.

Deeply-rooted in Boomtown’s history, Damian Marley, Caravan Palace, David Rodigan and Squarepusher return to Matterly Estate for headline live shows, while de-facto resident DJs Shy FX, Andy C and Nightmares on Wax join proceedings.

Orbital, Pendulum and Underworld fly the flag for legendary electronic bands, alongside fellow luminaries and hip-hop heavyweights, Wu-Tang Clan, De La Soul and Sugarhill Gang. On the flip-side, this generation’s trailblazers Mura Masa, High Contrast (with full live band), Akala, Noisia, and of course, Kano lead the charge.

There’s aren’t many stones left unturned at Boomtown 2020. It encompasses a catalogue of genres and movements, from deep, dark drum and bass, to edgy, indie rock. It celebrates the latest wave of boundary-pushing producers and bands, while nodding at the legends that came before them. It celebrates 11 years of one of the best festivals around, while pushing it into this new decade with a bang.

Boomtown 2020 tickets are now on sale from the Boomtown website.
